Nestory Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

Nestory helps you keep a record of the things in your home: appliances, home systems, warranties, manuals, and maintenance. This policy explains what information Nestory collects, how it's used, who it's shared with, and the choices you have. Nestory is operated by Sebastian Gomez ("we", "us").

The short version: we only collect what the app needs to work, we don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

Information you give us

Information stored only on your device

What we don't collect

Device permissions

You can change these at any time in your phone's settings. The app will still work, with the related features turned off.

How we use your information

AI features

When you photograph an item, the photo is sent to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI model, to suggest the item's type, brand, model, and serial number. When you ask Nestory to find a manual, the item's brand and model are sent to Anthropic, which searches the web for the manufacturer's manual. Anthropic processes this data to provide the result and, under its commercial terms, does not use it to train its models. Nestory asks for your permission before using these AI features. If you say no, you can still add items by hand, and you can turn AI features on or off at any time under Account.

Who we share information with

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help run the app, and only as needed for them to do so:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.

Security

Your data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Each account can access only its own homes, items, and files, and photos and documents are served through temporary links. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

How long we keep your information

We keep your information for as long as you have an account. When you delete an item, photo, or document, it's removed from our systems. When you delete your account, we delete your account and all associated data, except where we're legally required to keep something.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example, in the European Union or California), you may have additional rights, such as to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us. We'll respond within 30 days.

Children

Nestory isn't directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires), and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
